Marion County is a county located in the U.S. state of South Carolina. The 2005 Census estimate placed the population at 34,904. Its county seat is Marion.
History
It is named for Francis Marion, a South Carolina native who served as a brigadier general in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War.
